CSL DualCom was formed in 1996 when an opportunity to break a near monopoly in Secure Signalling was realised. CSL pioneered Dual Signalling, launching the award winning DualCom product in the November of the same year. It seems obvious now, but in the mid-nineties Dual Signalling was not on anybody’s agenda. In fact CSL had to lobby the standards creation bodies and opinion leaders of the time including Insurance Companies and the Police for a more effective means of transmitting Alarm Data. DualCom was the first product to confirm a line cut and subsequent alarms following a line cut. It wasn’t until the turn of the millennium before CSL’s competition caught on and launched other dual signalling on the back of the Industries acceptance of this now widely established technology. At the start of the new millennium, CSL became a Vodafone Service Provider and a business partner of the worlds largest Mobile Telecoms provider. In 2006 an MBO was successfully led by the Operations Director, Phil Hollett and Commercial Director Simon Banks. CSL also raised additional funds to enable the mid-range DualCom GPRS product program to reach its full potential. With the support of the UK’s Alarm Receiving Centres and Alarm Installers, DualCom has been installed in over 50,000 premises and has been adopted by thousands of Retailers, SMEs and Domestic customers as their Signalling of choice. CSL has continued to innovate with the new DualCom GPRS product. This product is the fastest selling dual signalling product in the UK. It has set the standards in terms of cost effective secure signalling. CSL in conjunction with Vodafone has created the Gemini managed network. Gemini was developed utilising the trusted technologies of the present including , GSM, Packet Switched Data and PSTN and incorporating the standards of tomorrow, GPRS. CSL will continue to lead the market in innovation and will always look to provide the market with products and services that are relevant to this fast changing world.
